In late July and August 2026, cultural organizers across Europe staged a series of summer music events. In Croatia, the City Museum of Nova Gradiška opened two free exhibitions on 23 July and 30 July to mark the 30th anniversary of the town’s flagship open-air Nova Gradiška Music Summer. The first exhibition, “Folk Costumes through Tošo Dabac’s Lens”, curated by Bojana Poljaković Popović, presented photographs of people from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Macedonia. The second, “Ivan Hus – Violin Maker”, curated by director Rosana Škrgulja, displayed instruments and workshop items from the craftsman known as the “Zagreb Stradivari”. The Nova Gradiška Music Summer festival itself, which has evolved into a major continental open-air event, featured a rock-themed opening night with regional legends Galija and Bijelo dugme. Other dugme, alongside performances included the band by Rockeri, the tamburaška ensemble ‘Satir’, Adi Šoše, and Nikola Rokvić. Local officials, including Deputy Mayor Sabina Vlaović and County Prefect Danijel Marušić, attended the celebrations. The festival continued through 16 August with various acts, including DJ sets multi-day event, which includes literary and performances by Z++. A week after art workshops for children, has attracted tens of thousands of visitors. In Italy, the Croatian museum openings, Italy launched its national Onde Mediterranee Music Festival launched in Gradisca d'Isonzo on 30 July, featuring a four-day programme July at the Arena del Castello. Alongside this, Castello, with regional programmes unfolded across in Lazio, Tuscany, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, offering concerts, theatre, and blues festivals. Giulia. By mid-August, the regional cultural season expanded further across in Southeast Europe. In Pula, Croatia, singer Haris Džinović performed a major concert at the Pula Arena to celebrate his 40-year career, accompanied by a 19 musicians, an eight-piece string ensemble ensemble, and guests Željko Vasić and Ivan Licul. In Serbia, the Nišvila jazz festival awarded the “Car Konstantin” Grand Prix to Pakito D’ Rivera and hosted Boney M. for their 50th anniversary. Additionally, the Tunalicious Festival in Poreč combined music with gastronomy and big game fishing.
