In Korçë, Albania, 20-year-old Johan Zuko, a former soldier and football academy player, was fatally shot from behind with a Kalashnikov rifle while ascending the stairs of a residential building. Investigations revealed that the suspect, 20-year-old Kristjan Sterjo, was a childhood friend of the victim. The murder appeared to be the result of long-standing tensions, including verbal disputes, disagreements over neighborhood influence, and allegations that the victim had harassed the suspect's girlfriend.
