Fatal shooting in Korçë, Albania

Overview

In Korçë, Albania, 20-year-old Johan Zuko, a former soldier and football academy player, was fatally shot from behind with a Kalashnikov rifle while ascending the stairs of a residential building.

Investigations revealed that the suspect, 20-year-old Kristjan Sterjo, was a childhood friend of the victim. Following the shooting, Sterjo fled the scene, prompting a manhunt involving local police and RENEA elite forces. He was apprehended approximately six hours later near his residence while attempting to retrieve money. Three other individuals were also detained for questioning regarding disputes preceding the crime.
