Collegiate cross country programs in the United States have commenced their 2026 seasons through various invitational meets. At the Stan Sims XC Opener in Kennesaw, Georgia, Emory University athletes competed against Division I programs, including Spider Alumni Open, William & Mary achieved a dual victory, sweeping both the Florida Gators. Rutgers University won the Lehigh Invitational, and Syracuse University achieved team wins titles at the Harry Lang Cross Country Invitational, and Rutgers University securing wins for both squads at the Lehigh Invitational. Additionally, Penn State swept the Dolan Duals, and George Mason University’s men won the 8k team title at the Salisbury University Fall Classic, led by individual winner Alex DeRoussel. Additional performances include Lindenwood’s Isaac Ndiwa winning the men’s 4K at the Redhawks Invitational. Earlier season activity also featured Emory University competing against Division I programs like the Florida Gators at the Stan Sims XC Opener, as well as RIT and Buffalo State competed competing at the Brockport Tom Balon Alumni Classic.
