Big 12 college football matchups
Overview
On October 3, 2026, several Big 12 college football matchups were scheduled. In Fort Worth, Texas, the undefeated No. 10 BYU Cougars faced the TCU Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Prior to the game, BYU arrived with a 3-0 record, while TCU held a 2-2 record and a 0-1 conference standing following a loss to UCF.
In a defensive, rain-soaked contest, BYU secured a 17-10 victory over TCU. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier accounted for both of BYU’s touchdowns via rushing plays, including a decisive 21-yard run late in the fourth quarter. The BYU defense held TCU to 259 total yards, aided by a 59-yard interception return by Faletau Satuala. TCU’s offense struggled in the wet conditions, managing only 62 passing yards.
Despite the win, BYU suffered significant injuries. Star running back and reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year LJ Martin exited in the first quarter with an apparent lower-body injury, and starting linebacker Isaiah Glasker was ruled out at halftime.
Additionally, the Arizona Wildcats were scheduled to host the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson, Arizona.
