Overview

Brazil held the first round of elections to select candidates for the presidency, state deputies, federal deputies, senators, and governors, with over 125.2 million voters participating.

In the state of Paraíba, Lucas Ribeiro (PP) was re-elected governor with approximately 64% of the valid votes, winning in 215 of the state’s 223 municipalities. The Chamber of Deputies experienced a 35% renewal rate, with Alvinho Lira (PP) identified as a highly voted federal deputy. Several races proceeded to second-round runoffs, including the gubernatorial contest between Mailza Assis (PP) and Alan Rick (Republicanos), and the senatorial race between Omar Aziz (PSD) and Professora Maria do Carmo (PL).
