Overview
In early October 2026, two separate serious traffic accidents occurred on Spanish highways.
On October 2, a collision between a van and a lime-transporting truck on the A-3 highway near Arganda del Rey left six people seriously injured. The victims, including two men with severe traumatic brain injuries and four women with thoracic trauma, required extrication by firefighters and stabilization by emergency services.
On October 9, a multi-vehicle collision involving three trucks and two passenger cars occurred on the A-62 highway near Tordesillas. This incident resulted in one fatality and eight injuries, including a 10-year-old child. Emergency response efforts included the use of medical helicopters to transport victims to hospitals in Valladolid and Salamanca.
