Road safety education initiatives in Italy
Overview
Educational initiatives focused on road safety and responsible mobility have been launched in Italy for the 2026/27 period.
In Salerno, the ‘Non fare lo sbronzo: proteggi la vita, l’ambiente, la città’ project has begun, targeting over 3,400 students across 67 school sites. Organized by ACI Automobile Club Salerno and the Municipality of Salerno, the program includes middle school students for the first time and involves training sessions with law enforcement and emergency agencies, such as the State Police and Red Cross.
On a national scale, the ‘Safe Road’ project has been introduced by the Fondazione Lorenzo Guarnieri ETS and the Fondazione Claudio Ciai ETS. This initiative provides e-learning courses for high school students covering topics such as driving psychology, regulations, and sustainable mobility, as well as recognized training for educators. The project is supported by the Metropolitan City of Florence.
