Aníbal Lotocki medical malpractice trial

Overview

Former surgeon Aníbal Lotocki is undergoing legal proceedings in Buenos Aires before the 17th Criminal and Correctional Oral Court. The trial involves allegations of serious injuries sustained by five women following aesthetic procedures. During his testimony, Lotocki addressed the use of various aesthetic products, noting that “methacrylate was the star of the moment” during the 1990s.

The legal proceedings also encompass the alleged manslaughter of Cristian Zárate, who died in April 2021 following surgery at the Centro Médico Conde (CEMECO). Several other individuals are being judged in connection with Zárate’s death, including plastic surgeon Daniel Enrique Zambrano García, anesthesiologist Santiago Luis Olguín, plastic surgeon Polansky Peláez Hoyos, and medical center director Andrea Isabel Torelli. Additionally, Florencia Krzeczek faces accusations of allegedly concealing Lotocki’s telephone number to obstruct investigators.
