Portuguese municipal school infrastructure investments

Overview

Municipalities in Portugal have undertaken various investments to improve educational facilities and resources.

In Odemira, a 150,000 euro municipal investment led to the inauguration of a new school library at the EB1 de Odemira elementary school, as well as a library point at EB1 de Sabóia. These projects aim to integrate facilities into Municipal and National School Library Networks to support student reading habits.

In Odivelas, a 7 million euro renovation of the Ramada Secondary School was completed. This project, partially funded by 3.86 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) via the European Union’s NextGenerationEU initiative, focused on structural upgrades, accessibility, and thermal insulation. The renovation also included the installation of a new water reservoir with fire protection and the provision of new digital and IT resources to support pedagogical modernization.
