Brazilian influencer Felca mental health disclosure

Overview

Brazilian digital influencer Felipe Bressanim Pereira, known as Felca, revealed a diagnosis of social phobia (social anxiety disorder) following a hiatus of over a year from YouTube. In his disclosure, he detailed how eight years of physical and psychological bullying during his school years in Londrina contributed to his condition.

Felca described severe symptoms, including elevated heart rates during public speaking and a history of using alcohol to cope with the fear of social interaction. He noted that the trauma led him to abandon university to avoid classroom environments and caused him to spend months in isolation following backlash regarding a previous video about the online exposure of children and adolescents.

Following the video, Google searches related to social phobia in Brazil reportedly surged by 5,000%. To address his condition, Felca announced a 90-day challenge titled “#simfel,” intended to help him overcome social avoidance by accepting social invitations.
