IHCL hospitality expansion in India
Overview
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has entered into several major development agreements to expand its hospitality footprint across India.
In late October 2026, Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and IHCL signed a multi-hotel operating agreement to develop eight hotels in cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Guwahati. This project, which will include over 2,000 rooms, involves AAHL developing the properties while IHCL manages them through brands such as Taj, Vivanta, Gateway, and Ginger.
Concurrently, the Ambuja Neotia Group and IHCL announced a significant investment of approximately ₹2,700 to ₹3,000 crore focused on West Bengal. This initiative aims to fund nine upcoming projects over the next five to seven years, increasing the group's presence in the state from 11 to 20 projects. Planned developments include various Taj branded properties in Kolkata, Siliguri, and Darjeeling.
