Drug trafficking enforcement in Brazil

Overview

Law enforcement agencies in Brazil have conducted several operations targeting drug trafficking networks. In Samambaia, the Military Police of the Federal District arrested four individuals, including a Cuban citizen, following intelligence monitoring. This operation resulted in the seizure of marijuana, cocaine, skunk, crack, cash, and ammunition.

In a separate multi-state effort known as the Divisa Sul operation, the Civil Police arrested 11 people across Bahia, Espírito Santo, and Minas Gerais. This investigation, which began in August 2024, targeted an organization managing drug trafficking and financial administration in southern Bahia. Authorities froze approximately R$ 3 million in financial assets linked to the group, while two suspects remain at large.
