Major paint and color forecasting brands have begun announcing their ‘Color of the Year’ selections for 2027, signaling a collective shift toward nature-inspired, calming, and earthy palettes. Specific brand selections include C2 Paint’s ‘Pueblo,’ a hue shifting between earth, rose, and brown, and Little Greene’s ‘Marle,’ a clay-inspired mid-brown designed to bring warmth to contemporary interiors. Other industry leaders have identified shades such as WGSN and Coloro’s ‘Luminous Blue,’ Dulux’s ‘Soulful Sage,’ Sherwin-Williams’ ‘Celery,’ and Behr’s ‘Grounded.’ Dulux has joined these forecasts by unveiling ‘Soulful Sage’ as its 2027 trend color. Described as a light, gentle, and uplifting sage green, the shade is intended to serve as a stylish alternative to traditional neutrals like beige or white. To support interior design applications, Dulux released three complementary palettes: ‘Glow,’ featuring warm earth tones; ‘Lift,’ pairing the green with soft pink and ochre; and ‘Light,’ which utilizes blue shades. Expanding on this trend, PPG has announced ‘Country Soil’ as its 2027 Color of the Year, describing it as a warm, saturated hue combining beige, taupe, and grey to reflect consumer desires for tranquility and security. This shift toward autumnal aesthetics is also appearing in material selections; the brand Kreoo has introduced a collection of natural stones with warm hues, including marbles such as Breccia di Vendôme, Travertino Rosso, and Emperador Light. These materials are being integrated into new furniture designs, such as the Aphaia marble side table series and the Prince table. Recent industry analysis emphasizes the prominence of natural and calming tones, specifically highlighting various shades of green as timeless choices. Behr’s ‘Grounded’ is characterized as an earthy and practical olive green with brown undertones, while Sherwin-Williams has introduced ‘Celery,’ a subtle yellow-green. Interior designers observe that these trends reflect a growing consumer desire to move away from all-white interiors in favor of warm, layered spaces that establish a stronger connection to nature.
