The bidding process for the 2029 World Athletics Championships has gained momentum with multiple cities competing for the hosting rights. On August 10, Nairobi formally submitted an official bid, with the Kenyan government pledging support for infrastructure, security, and organizational frameworks. If successful, Nairobi would be the first African city to host the flagship senior global event. By late August, German athletes, including decathletes Leo Neugebauer and Niklas Kaul, began advocating for Munich to host the championships in either 2029 or 2031.
