Aardman Animations 50th anniversary celebrations

Overview

Aardman Animations is marking its 50th anniversary in 2026 with various commemorative events. To celebrate the milestone, the studio held a landmark auction through Propstore, featuring over 220 lots of original puppets and memorabilia. The collection included iconic characters such as Wallace, Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, and Morph, with bidding running from September 4 to September 24.

Further celebrations include a guest programme and masterclass hosted by the Aesthetica Film Festival in York on November 6. Founded in 1976 by Peter Lord and David Sproxton, the Bristol-based studio has become a major influence in British stop-motion animation.
