Abandoned children in Ho Chi Minh City
Overview
On October 13, a nun discovered four children—two boys and two girls ranging in age from 9 months to approximately 3 years—abandoned in front of Dieu Giac Pagoda on Tran Nao Street.
The An Khanh Ward People's Committee issued a notice to locate the biological parents or relatives to facilitate the reclamation of the children, who were reported to be in normal health.
By October 24, no relatives had come forward. Consequently, local officials began proceeding with birth registration and other necessary legal formalities for the children, who remain under care at the pagoda’s welfare center.
