In Funchal, a symphonic tribute to ABBA titled ‘ABBA Symphonic’ is being held at Parque de Santa Catarina as part of the celebrations for the 518th anniversary of the city’s elevation to city status. The event features a collaboration between the Madeira Classical Orchestra and the Serbian band ABBA Real Tribute, directed by conductor Mikica Jevtić. The performance includes 19 of the Swedish band’s hits performed with symphonic arrangements, costumes, and choreography. The city’s commemorative program is scheduled to run from August 17 to August 27.
