Abruzzo hydrogeological restoration in Torricella Sicura

Overview

In Torricella Sicura, the hydrogeological restoration project in the Case Bellozzi district has been completed. Following a commissioner's decree on September 16, 2026, a final balance exceeding 378,000 euros was transferred to the Special Office for the Reconstruction of Abruzzo.

The project, implemented by the Municipality of Torricella Sicura with a total authorized funding of 650,000 euros, falls under Special Ordinance n. 53 established in July 2023. Extraordinary Commissioner Guido Castelli described securing the territory as an “essential component of reconstruction to protect communities, homes, and infrastructure.” Mayor Daniele Palumbi identified this as the first completed project under the ordinance, noting that two other major interventions valued at over 2.5 million euros are currently in progress.
