Abruzzo SME digitalization funding initiative

Overview

The Abruzzo Region has announced a 10 million euro allocation to support the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the FESR Digitalization of SMEs notice. The initiative is designed to reduce the digital gap between large corporations and smaller businesses.

In a joint effort with the Chieti Pescara Chamber of Commerce, the program provides funding for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and local professionals to accelerate digital transformation, support tourism, and assist in international market expansion. Funded via the 2021-2027 Regional FESR Program, the initiative covers up to 70% of eligible costs for technologies such as e-commerce, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and innovative payment systems.

Individual grants may reach a maximum of 100,000 euros for investments of at least 10,000 euros. Applications are scheduled to be submitted online through the regional electronic portal between September 21, 2026, and October 12, 2026. Priority for the funds will be given to artisan businesses, companies situated in internal areas, and those maintaining high ESG ratings.
