Academic and musical events at Liszt Academy
Overview
The Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest has hosted various academic and professional musical events. In late September 2026, the academy hosted an international musicology meeting that functioned as both a professional exchange for music librarians and an academic masterclass. The event featured lectures from leaders of international music repertory projects, such as RISM, RILM, RIPM, and RIdIM, to provide students and PhD candidates with expertise in essential databases.
Following this, in October 2026, the academy scheduled masterclasses led by violist Thomas Selditz. The sessions, which included performances of works by composers such as Bach, Brahms, and Bartók–Serly, were open to the public via registration.
