Accidents involving Padma River bridges

Overview

A bulkhead carrying 123 passengers collided with a pillar of the Hardinge Bridge in the Padma River near Bheramara, Kushtia. The vessel reportedly lost control due to strong currents.

During the collision, three individuals were thrown into the river. While two passengers were rescued and reported to be in good health, one individual, identified as Rakibuzzaman Rocky, remains missing. Search operations involving the Fire Service and naval police are currently underway to locate the missing person.
