Overview
Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election, has selected Engr. Safriel Judson Glah as his running mate. Glah is a retired General Manager and former Head of Environment, Health, Safety and Environment at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited with over 34 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Haske’s candidacy has faced scrutiny following a Court of Appeal ruling regarding candidates who participate in one party’s primary and subsequently decamp to another. However, legal counsel Barrister AT Shehu has defended the bid, stating the ruling does not apply to Haske. Shehu clarified that while Haske participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary, he finished in third place and was never officially sponsored by the party. Following Haske’s resignation from the APC in August 2026, he joined the APM, where a fresh, INEC-monitored primary affirmed him as the party’s candidate in compliance with the Electoral Act 2022.
