A study presented at the ESC Congress 2026 demonstrated that incorporating polygenic risk scores could reclassify the risk category for approximately 42.6% of patients in a Spanish study, subsequently leading to improved health measures like lower LDL cholesterol. Additionally, research suggests that routine nongated chest CT scans may be as effective as dedicated ECG-gated scans for predicting cardiovascular risk, offering a more convenient method for risk stratification.
