AEW WrestleDream 2026 event details

The AEW WrestleDream 2026 event, held at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, served as a sold-out tribute to wrestling legend Antonio Inoki. A central attraction was the inaugural ‘Clockwork Carnage’ match for the AEW World Championship. In this unique two-stage contest, Will Ospreay defended his title against seven challengers: Samoa Joe, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet, and Darby Allin. Following an elimination phase, the match transitioned into a 15-minute scoring period. Ospreay secured the victory with three points, narrowly defeating Copeland, Joe, and Allin, who each finished with two points. Other major championship results included Mercedes Moné defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Thekla, and The Young Bucks retaining the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. Jon Moxley successfully defended the AEW Continental Championship against Mark Davis despite a significant head injury. In a shift for the AEW World Trios Championship, Hangman Page, Bandido, and Brody King regained the titles from Swerve Strickland and The New Level (Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed). Additionally, Andrade El Idolo successfully defended the AEW National Championship against Tommaso Ciampa. During the ‘Tailgate Brawl’ pre-show, Jay White made a surprise in-ring return alongside The Bang Bang Gang following an injury sustained at AEW All Out. White’s team, which included The Gunns and The Conglomeration, was defeated by The Death Riders and The Dogs. Wardlow also made his first pay-per-view appearance in 958 days during the pre-show, securing a victory alongside the Don Callis Family. Furthermore, Ilja Dragunov was officially unveiled as the newest signing for AEW, though Tony Khan confirmed that Dragunov’s arrival had been delayed by visa issues.
