Agit Kabayel heavyweight title challenges

Overview

Following recent championship bouts in London, tension has risen in the heavyweight boxing division regarding WBC Champion Agit Kabayel. Unbeaten Albanian boxer Nelson Hysa challenged Kabayel at ringside after a knockout victory, stating, “Don’t be afraid. I will knock you out.” Additionally, IBF Champion Filip Hrgović expressed interest in a unification bout with Kabayel, a prospect Kabayel described as “the best fight in the division.”

However, the scheduled WBC heavyweight title defense between Kabayel and Hysa has been cancelled. Promoter Frank Warren reported that although terms and contracts had been agreed upon, Hysa sent a message stating he no longer wanted the fight. Kabayel is now expected to defend his title in Germany later this year against a top-10 ranked opponent, with a new challenger to be announced soon.
