Overview
Agricultural output in India is facing significant challenges due to shifting sowing patterns and weather conditions. By mid-September, reports indicated that below-normal monsoon rainfall could lead to the largest decline in Indian rice production in a decade. Industry representatives estimated a potential decrease of approximately 10 million tons. While existing stocks from previous harvests may support continued exports, the reduced yields are expected to pressure both domestic prices and global markets.
