Aguas Araucanía community initiatives in Chile

Overview

The water utility Aguas Araucanía has implemented several community-focused initiatives in Chile’s Araucanía region.

In late July, the company signed a one-year agreement with the regional fire service to provide water exemptions for 65 fire stations across 34 localities. This pact is expected to save the fire service approximately 4.5 million Chilean pesos per month.

Following this, throughout August, Aguas Araucanía launched a series of recognition events to commemorate the Month of the Social Leader. Led by the company’s Community Relations department, these meetings have been held in various communes, including Carahue, Collipulli, Nueva Imperial, Puerto Saavedra, Purén, Lautaro, and Cherquenco, to honor local community leaders and social organizations.
