AI integration in healthcare services

Overview

Artificial intelligence is being integrated into various healthcare sectors to improve screening, training, and diagnostic processes.

In Assam, India, the George Institute for Global Health and the Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre have initiated a three-year pilot study to develop AI-driven tools for cervical cancer screening. This project involves Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) in co-designing a multilingual voice chatbot and an AI-enabled training platform to address community-specific concerns and strengthen rural screening capacity.

Other AI applications in healthcare include training programs by Supercuidadores and Idiena Health, which use AI-driven simulations to help caregivers practice emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. Additionally, the NandiNurse web application has been developed to assist nursing professionals with patient diagnostics by using AI to synthesize academic data into Nursing Care Process guides.
