Aichi Prefecture manufacturing and digital innovation
Overview
Manufacturing and digital transformation developments in Aichi Prefecture have seen both individual startup growth and regional innovation initiatives.
In late September, the Kariya-based startup GEMBA secured 45 million yen in seed funding to advance its digital solutions for modernizing manufacturing sites. The company intends to use the capital to develop ‘GEMBA AI’, a tool designed to utilize field data for decision-making and knowledge transfer, while also strengthening its sales and support teams.
By early October, the ‘MONO INNOVATION AICHI’ program, a collaboration between Aichi Prefecture and eiicon, reported progress in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. Eight participating companies presented new business themes leveraging their existing technical strengths to address digital transformation and carbon neutrality. These projects include specialized bicycle locks, halal-compliant food products, and automated systems for labor-shortage industries. Most participants are currently seeking co-creation partners ahead of a scheduled ‘DEMO DAY’ at the end of the fiscal year.
