Specifically, Khan portrays a visually impaired musician and martial arts coach. Kumar’s role is described as a psychopath, a departure from the comedic collaborations typically associated with the director and Kumar. New details regarding the casting reveal that while Khan was the only actor originally confirmed, Kumar joined the project after expressing interest in the psychopath role during a casual discussion with Priyadarshan while filming ‘Bhoot Bangla’. Priyadarshan noted that casting two major stars can be difficult due to insecurities among newer actors, contrasting this with his experience with stars like Kumar, Govinda, and Ajay Devgn, whom he described as having ‘no ego issues’. ‘Haiwaan’ is a Hindi adaptation of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam crime thriller, ‘Oppam’. The ensemble cast includes Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, and Jisshu Sengupta, with a cameo by Mohanlal. The film is produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions and Thespian Films. As part of the film's promotion, Zee Music Company has released the title track, ‘Main Toh Nahi Haiwaan’.
