Albania‑Serbia minority consular diplomacy

In early July 2026 Serbian officials discussed registering Albanian residents in the Preshevo Valley. By late July, July Albanian and Serbian foreign ministers announced a principle agreement to open reciprocal consulates – a Serbian consulate in Shkodër and an Albanian consulate in Bujanoc – stressing that the offices do not confer sovereignty.
