Alcohol-related traffic incidents in Germany

Overview

Police in Germany have reported two separate incidents involving intoxicated cyclists. In Coesfeld, a 45-year-old man was stopped after riding a bicycle without lights and failing to observe a stop sign; a test indicated a blood alcohol level of approximately 1.4 per mille.

In Altenburg, officers intercepted a 42-year-old man operating a fatbike late on a Sunday evening. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.70 per mille. In both cases, the individuals were prohibited from continuing their travel and criminal proceedings were initiated.
