Algerian industrial sector investment and development

Overview

Algeria is advancing several large-scale industrial investment projects aimed at boosting national production and job creation.

In the Larbaâtache industrial zone of Boumerdès, approximately 9.43 billion dinars have been allocated to six new projects. These include developments in compressed and liquefied gas production, sensitive vision equipment manufacturing, biotechnology, and cosmetics. Additionally, a specialized infant formula factory is under monitoring by the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion, with operations expected to begin in July 2027.

In Oran, a major tire manufacturing plant in the El Hamoul industrial zone, a partnership between El Hadj Larbi Industries and the Chinese company Doublestar Tire, has reached 45% completion. The 50 billion dinar project aims to produce up to 7 million tires annually. Local authorities have recently addressed the need for stable power supplies and accelerated construction timelines to ensure the facility meets its scheduled completion by the end of 2026.
