Allegations of misconduct against Sara Netanyahu

Allegations of misconduct involving Sara Netanyahu, wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have escalated from media reports to formal legal action.

In early August, a former employee identified as “Y” alleged to Channel 12 that Sara Netanyahu repeatedly assaulted and humiliated staff at the official West Jerusalem residence. The claims included physical assault, the use of racist language toward Mizrahi Jews and foreign workers, and discriminatory treatment of an African female worker. The employee also alleged that Yair Netanyahu physically assaulted staff.

By late August, former employee Rami Ben Hamou filed a lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu. Ben Hamou, who worked at the residence and Prime Minister’s office for over a decade, alleges he was subjected to verbal abuse, racial insults—including being called a ‘backward Moroccan’—and demeaning tasks such as cleaning shoe soles with wipes. The lawsuit further claims he was forced to work illegal hours.

In a subsequent development, Ben Hamou filed a lawsuit against the Prime Minister’s Office seeking approximately 450,000 NIS ($150,000) in damages. The plaintiff alleges systemic mistreatment and claims Mrs. Netanyahu used derogatory language regarding his heritage, specifically calling him an “uncivilized Moroccan” or “undeveloped Moroccan.” Ben Hamou stated that the stressful environment contributed to a heart-related medical emergency in early 2025. The Netanyahu family has denied all allegations, characterizing the legal actions as “fake news” and a politically motivated “witch hunt” designed to damage the Prime Minister’s standing.
