Alpha Bank infrastructure and SME financing in Greece
Overview
Alpha Bank has expanded its financial support for various sectors in Greece, ranging from professional development to large-scale infrastructure.
In late September 2026, the bank partnered with the European Investment Fund through the InvestEU program to offer low-cost education and training loans. This initiative targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), vocational training organizations, and lifelong learners to enhance workforce competitiveness.
By mid-October 2026, the bank’s focus included major energy and technology projects. Alpha Bank acted as the exclusive arranger and lender for a 170 million euro energy storage facility in Thessaly, providing 56 million euros in funding to manage renewable energy. Additionally, the bank served as the sole financier for the development of ‘Daidalos’, a new national supercomputer in Lavrio, supporting the company MainSys in its collaboration with HP.
