Alpine’s transition to an all-electric lineup continues with new technical details and model expansions. Following the conclusion of internal-combustion A110 production in July 2026, the brand has further defined its high-performance electric offerings. The A290 GTS, a high-end electric compact based on the Renault 5 E-Tech platform, features a widened and lowered chassis, a multi-link rear axle, hydraulic bump stops, and an electronic locking differential. Producing 220 hp and 300 Nm of torque, it achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The A290 has become a primary driver of organic growth, accounting for 70% of sales, with nearly 80% of its buyers coming from outside the Renault Group portfolio. Further details have emerged regarding the A390 GTS electric crossover SUV. This model utilizes a three-motor setup, with each motor producing 156 horsepower. While the vehicle weighs over 2 tons, its chassis is noted for responsiveness and exceptional steering feel. The A390 offers an estimated range of at least 500 kilometers under light driving conditions. However, the A390 has faced commercial challenges. Following disappointing sales in the first half of 2026, Renault is reducing production at its Dieppe plant, with daily output scheduled to be cut from 30 units to 15 units by the end of September 2026. At the Paris Motor Show, Alpine is highlighting its ‘Atelier Alpine’ customization program for both models. The A290 will debut a new ‘Collection’ finish, featuring 19-inch Snowflake wheels and new matte paint options, while the A390 will feature options such as ‘Storm Blue Matte’ paint and Sabelt leather sport seats. Additionally, CEO Philippe Krief has outlined technical plans for the upcoming all-electric A110, which is expected to feature an 800-volt architecture, an 80 kWh battery, and a target Nürburgring lap time of under seven minutes.
