Amazonas Court of Accounts institutional activities

Overview

The Amazonas Court of Accounts (TCE-AM) has engaged in diverse institutional activities in Manaus. Initially, the court’s Women’s Ombudsman Office joined a municipal educational program to support 150 students with high abilities or giftedness through workshops focusing on socio-emotional development and specialized support for families and teachers.

Regarding personnel matters, TCE-AM President Yara Amazônia Lins met with the President of the Amazonas Legislative Assembly (Aleam), Adjuto Afonso, to formally present a bill for annual salary revisions. The proposed legislation seeks to establish a base date for the general annual review of salaries and pensions for active, inactive, and pensioner employees, utilizing a proposed adjustment index of 4.72%. Lins emphasized that the measure represents a “legal right and a recognition of the staff’s work.” In response, Afonso stated that the Assembly intends to expedite the processing of the bill, aiming for approval within the following week to ensure adjustments are included in the September payroll.

Furthering its administrative oversight, TCE-AM issued technical guidance clarifying that the 2026 annual accountability reports must adhere to current regulations. The court noted that new rules established by Resolution No. 03/2026 will not take effect until January 1, 2027.

In the context of regional political developments, the salary adjustment bill submitted by Lins remains a key legislative item alongside various campaign proposals in Amazonas. As regional election campaigns intensify, candidates are presenting diverse platforms: David Almeida is proposing to double State Aid to R$ 300 and addressing public security concerns regarding criminal factions, while Governor Roberto Cidade continues to campaign on educational modernization through technology and connectivity.
