Amitabh Bachchan hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati

Overview

Amitabh Bachchan has addressed the personal and physical challenges associated with hosting the 18th season of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). In September, Bachchan noted the emotional toll of hearing contestants’ difficult personal histories, stating in a blog post, “I wish to retire now.” However, it remained unclear if this indicated actual retirement plans or exhaustion.

By October, the focus shifted to Bachchan’s physical health and specific incidents on set. He revealed he sustained a knee injury after slipping during filming and noted that a demanding schedule has prevented him from getting adequate sleep.

During a recent episode featuring actress Madhuri Dixit, the tone shifted toward personal reflections. Bachchan shared details regarding his upbringing and family history, specifically discussing his mother, Teji Bachchan, and his parents’ inter-caste marriage. The episode also included light-hearted moments, such as Bachchan reacting with self-deprecating humor to a throwback clip of him attempting to recreate Dixit’s ‘Ek Do Teen’ dance moves.
