América-RN squad and coaching restructuring

Following elimination from the Série D round of 16 after a penalty shootout loss to Gama, América-RN has entered a period of squad restructuring and management uncertainty.

Striker Cassiano announced his departure from the club, expressing apologies to supporters for the failure to achieve promotion to Série C. The club is also reviewing the future of head coach Ranielle Ribeiro, whose contract expired following the campaign. While Ribeiro achieved a state championship, the club’s football executive, Daniel de Paula, stated that a decision regarding a renewal will be made after the SAF evaluates his performance.

To reduce payroll expenses during a period without national matches, the club has confirmed the departures of several players, including goalkeeper José Henrique, right-back Ricardo Luz, and forwards Nycollas Lopo and Cassiano. These individuals join seven other players who have already left the team. The club is currently evaluating remaining contracts to prepare for the 2027 season, which includes the Campeonato Potiguar, Copa do Brasil, and Copa do Nordeste.
