Ancona urban redevelopment in Piazza Dante
Overview
The city of Ancona is preparing for construction in Piazza Dante as part of the ‘Waterfront Ancona 3.0’ project, which is scheduled to begin on October 1.
To manage the impact on local residents and traffic, the municipality has implemented a temporary parking permit system. Starting September 29, residents from several specific streets can collect free permits to allow parking in designated areas near the historic port and the ITIS Nautico institute. These permits are intended to remain valid until the works are estimated to be completed on December 31, 2026.
Local mobility will also be affected by concurrent sewer works closing the Vittorio Emanuele ramp for four weeks, requiring residents to use the Da Chio archway. To prevent overlapping disruptions, the Department of Public Works is staggering the start dates for construction in Piazza Dante, the Podio di Palazzo degli Anziani, and the Lungomare Vanvitelli.
