Angola tourism and hospitality sector development

Overview

Angola is implementing measures to expand its tourism and hospitality sectors through legislative reform and international promotion.

President João Lourenço issued Presidential Decree No. 382/26, delegating authority to the Ministers of Environment and Tourism to jointly manage ecotourism concessions within national parks and natural reserves. This initiative seeks to attract private investment, create local employment, and promote biodiversity conservation by allowing the ministries to approve procedures and award contracts for these spaces.

In tandem with these domestic reforms, Angola is engaging in international trade events, such as Hospitality 2026 in Doha, Qatar, to showcase investment opportunities and ‘Made in Angola’ products like coffee. Additionally, the country is participating in bilateral discussions regarding the tourism and hospitality industries in connection with Portuguese conventions.
