Anti-corruption measures in Peru and Ecuador

Overview

In Peru, the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation has implemented training for more than 1,600 public officials under the initiative ‘Diálogos Transparentes: Integridad frente al FEN 2026’. This program is designed to prevent bribery and ensure transparency during emergency responses to the El Niño phenomenon.

In Ecuador, National Assembly President Mishel Mancheno addressed the redistribution of competencies for Specialized Anti-Corruption Units in Quito by the Council of the Judiciary. Mancheno indicated that requesting information is preferable to a formal oversight process regarding the suppression of these units and noted that future legislative reforms, such as the Anti-Mafia Law, may require adjustments to maintain functionality following these judicial changes.
