Overview

Apple released a series of security updates for its macOS line in late July 2026. On 27 July, patches for macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 addressed roughly 138 vulnerabilities, including WebKit flaws, and were made available through the Mac App Store and direct download links. The same day Apple also issued updates for macOS Tahoe, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.

The following day, 28 July, Apple launched macOS Tahoe 26.6, which patched more than 150 security issues across the kernel, graphics drivers, APFS, and network stacks. The update also added new kernel extensions, refreshed a software‑signing certificate, and re‑indexed Spotlight in preparation for the upcoming macOS 27 “Golden Gate”.
