In late July, Aprilia Racing faced speculation that it might abandon its traditional “no team orders” stance and favor rider Jorge Martín over teammate Marco Bezzecchi, who was returning from shoulder surgery. The team led the constructors' standings, but the championship battle was tightening.

A few days later, Martín held a 14‑point lead in the riders' championship ahead of the Silverstone round, while acknowledging a loss of bike consistency compared with earlier victories. Bezzecchi was preparing to re‑join the squad after recovering from shoulder and knee injuries. Aprilia focused on fine‑tuning the motorcycle to restore performance and protect Martín’s lead, indicating that any shift in team strategy remained under discussion.

At Silverstone, Martín entered as the championship leader with a 14‑point advantage over Japan’s Ai Ogura, heading a tight top‑five that also included Ducati champion Marc Marquez, teammate Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, all within 24 points. Bezzecchi returned to the grid but was still not at full fitness, while other manufacturers announced 2027 line‑up plans. Aprilia continued to balance bike development with supporting Bezzecchi’s comeback, aiming to preserve Martín’s title advantage.
