Argentina mental health awareness initiatives

In late July 2026, former Miss Universo Argentina Lourdes Sánchez Flores highlighted her "Por amor a ti" mental‑health project and took part in the inaugural Forum on Psychiatry and Mental Health in San Rafael, aimed at professionals and the public and focusing on suicide prevention and stigma reduction.

A few days later, municipal authorities in Mar Chiquita and Concepción del Uruguay launched large‑scale youth‑focused mental‑health events. Mar Chiquita’s "Marchi Calma" day introduced a Local Mental Health Table to coordinate prevention, care and promotion across health, education and community sectors, while Concepción del Uruguay’s Mental Health and Youth Day attracted over a thousand participants and featured workshops on anxiety, digital consumption, bullying and psychological first aid.

Together, the snapshots show a widening of Argentina’s mental‑health outreach: from a high‑profile advocacy and professional forum to community‑level, youth‑targeted programs that integrate health officials, schools and local NGOs.
