Argentina’s ~~public‑asset~~ public-asset disposal programme continues through ~~July‑August~~ July-August 2026, with auctions of the Pro.Cre.Ar housing project in Junín, a seized property in Bahía Blanca and six inheritance apartments slated for 14 August; proceeds are earmarked for the Permanent Educational Fund. Resolution 120/26 (30 July) authorised private digital platforms to run online auctions of unused state movable assets, expanding disposals beyond ~~real‑estate,~~ real-estate, and the administration reaffirmed its goal of selling more than 400 ~~state‑owned~~ state-owned properties by 2028. On 4 August the Milei government announced an amendment to the draft “Ley de Tierras”, raising the ~~foreign‑ownership~~ foreign-ownership ceiling on rural land from ~~15 %~~ 15% to ~~25 %~~ 25% at the provincial level, removing municipal caps, and eliminating the ~~1,000‑hectare~~ 1,000-hectare limit in the core agricultural zone. Senators Lucía Corpacci and Luis Juez criticised the process as lacking transparency and warned that foreign control of strategic resources such as lithium, gold and copper could threaten provincial development. Following the legislative rejection, the government has continued its asset liquidation via Decree 764/2026. Signed by President Javier Milei and Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli, this measure empowers the State Property Administration Agency (AABE) to auction four large-scale properties in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, and Tierra del Fuego.
