Judge Ariel Lijo has granted former Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni a 15-day extension to justify his assets and financial evolution. This decision follows a formal request from Adorni’s defense, which sought additional time to access digital evidence, specifically forensic extractions from the mobile phone of contractor Matías Tabar. Tabar reportedly received US$245,000 in cash for renovations at Adorni’s residence in the Indio Cuá country club. The judicial inquiry, led by prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita, focuses on alleged illicit enrichment involving Adorni and his wife, Bettina Angeletti, between December 14, 2023, and Adorni’s resignation on June 27, 2026. Investigators identified a discrepancy where family expenses reached approximately $272,820,832.20, exceeding the documented income of roughly $229,752,283.20 by over $43 million. Beyond the primary discrepancy, the probe scrutinizes approximately US$402,578.12 in unexplained movements, a US$200,000 investment in Bitcoin, the purchase of a Jeep, and the origins of cash used for real estate and international travel. Adorni must also address 20 specific inquiries, including the nature of loans received from relatives Silvia Pais and Norma Zuccolo. Once the extended deadline passes and documentation is reviewed, Pollicita will decide whether to proceed with a formal indictment.
