Argentine provinces have reported varying fiscal performances and transparency levels amidst national economic challenges. In terms of fiscal governance, Entre Ríos secured second place nationally in the 2024 Provincial Budget Transparency Index (ITPP) with a score of 9.75 out of 10, trailing only Córdoba (9.90) and ahead of Santa Fe (9.70). This index evaluates the availability, detail, and timeliness of fiscal information provided via official government websites. Regarding provincial management, Neuquén’s legislature approved a 2025 General Investment Account showing a financial surplus of approximately 65 billion Argentine pesos. Chubut reported positive fiscal results for the first quarter of 2026, achieving a primary surplus of $49,258 million (6.3% of income) and a financial surplus of $22,184 million (2.8% of income), both surpassing the national provincial average of 4.9%. These results were achieved despite a 7.4% year-on-year real decrease in provincial income. In Tierra del Fuego, the Banco de Tierra del Fuego expanded its mortgage credit quota to $25,000 million. Nationally, credit markets face rising delinquency; the consolidated default rate Personnel costs represent 44% of total provincial spending. Political dynamics are shifting alongside these fiscal trends. A study by QMonitor indicates a 93% correlation between social tolerance for individual loans reached 17.5% economic adjustment and President Javier Milei's approval ratings. As tolerance for adjustment fell from 44% in June, with non-bank providers showing a 31% delinquency rate compared October 2025 to 15.2% 33% in traditional banking. Regional disparities persist, with La Rioja at 24.5% July, presidential approval and La Pampa at 9.1%. voting intention also declined.
