Argentine student aerospace competitions
Overview
Argentina is hosting various aerospace and technology competitions for students. In early September, the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE) announced the selection of 20 secondary school teams for the CANSAT Argentina 2026 competition. This initiative, involving the Asociación de Cohetería Experimental y Modelista de Argentina (ACEMA), requires students to design, build, and test small-scale satellites.
Later in the month, the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) announced fifteen finalists for the 11th Argentine Technology Competition (OATec) – Aerospace Challenge. This competition, which drew 1,800 applicants, will hold its final stage in late October in Buenos Aires, evaluating participants on technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
